Panda Activescan scaring users to buy what they don't need?
I'm using Panda Activescan (www.pandasoftware.com) about once a week to check up on my usual virusprogram and see if it missed something. I did this again today, and got quite a scare - suddenly my pc had no less than 70 spywareprograms installed! I tried running Activescan on my 2 laptops as well, and they also came out with 7 and 63 spywareprograms installed. All this in the span of a week?
When I looked at the scan report, it turns out that each tracking cookie on each pc was suddenly considered spyware by the scanner, and nothing was wrong whatsoever.
Is it ok for Panda Software to try to scare users of their free scanner to become paying customers by providing what I consider false information? Guys, this is too low! It is a bad way to try to keep some shine of credibility towards your users or customers...
